This is the popular annual fundraiser for Education Foundation to support teacher grants for educational resources not funded through the general fund of Dearborn Public Schools budget.

Attendees come to this fun event wearing masks and beads and enjoy two-stepping to the twangy sounds of live Zydeco music and conversing with colleagues over flavorful Cajun cuisine.

Mardi Gras offers opportunities to donate through participation in a 50/50 drawing, tin can raffle, silent auction, and a crayon raffle for a chance to win a laptop

Other fun activities include the doubloon contest where participants give their doubloon coins to their favorite school. The Education Foundation gives the one elementary, middle school and high school that receives the greatest number of doubloons a donation to support the school’s educational programs

One faculty member who donates $100 or more to the Education Foundation through payroll deduction is selected to win a prize
